A challenging and exciting new module on prison ministry has been completed as part of our JustMatters program. The JustMatters module, Prison Reform: Church of the Second Chance, will be available June 1, 2008. The curriculum consists of six sessions, although groups are encouraged to add an immersion experience as a seventh session. Each session is 2 ½ hours in length. The title comes from the book, The Church of the Second Chance, by the module developer, Jens Soering. Soering is an inmate who has written three other books while in prison, including the award winning, The Convict Christ.
The 2008 registration fee for all modules is $100 each. The other costs associated with the prison reform module are two books (for each participant, for a total of $23/participant) and two videos (for a total of $62/group, used each time the module is offered), all of which can all be purchased from Sowers Books and Videos.
